Earth Day: Fashion

On the search for eco-conscious clothing, I seem to find a lot of graphic t-shirts featuring birds and trees.
I don’t wear a lot of graphic t-shirts….so…now what?

I started writing style stories for now-defunct Sprig.com not-so-long ago, and found that there ARE some good stuff out there…though often, it’s prohibitively expensive.

Earth day: Beauty

I’m a sucker for any product that touts anti-aging. My bathroom is FULL of creams and serums that are supposed to anti-oxidize, firm and do a host of other magic.

I recently spent $100+  on a cleanser because the sales guy gushed, “It changed my skin completely!”

He’s a sales guy. Of COURSE it did!

Anyway, look at the ingredients of some of these products and chances are high that the miracle ingredient is something you can’t pronounce.

Recently I heard some proponent of organic skincare preaching that the skin is your body’s largest organ, so it makes sense that absorbing chemicals could affect it adversely. Kind of makes sense.

With that in mind, I’ve been trying to make my beauty purchases a little smarter.
